Exploring True Colors in Restaurant Ops

Well beyond "may I  take your order" and "would you like extra sour cream with that," district and general managers at Rosa's Cafe (27 fast-casual restaurants in Texas, Oklahoma) are using True Colors to not only improve communication and morale among employees, but to learn how to better accomplish daily operational duties and how to develop more successful customer interactions at the point-of-purchase.  What restaurant comes to your mind when you think of outstanding service?

True Colors at Chicago Healthcare Event

On Friday, June 6th, I will be presenting a breakout session at the 19th Annual Chicago Area Healthcare Recruiters Conference.  The theme of the conference is "meeting the challenges of recruitment and retention." Having a firm understanding of ones True Colors (personality makeup) is a critical step toward improving the percentages for attaining quality recruits in a more time and cost-efficient manner.  Further, understanding the motivations behind each personality color will always manifest itself in improved employee retention.  In what ways do you think your employer could improve retention at your workplace?

True Colors Finds CONCUSSIVE Audience

Concussion.  In Fort Worth and around the advertising industry, Concussion is beginning to represent far more than the end result of great impact.  On the contrary, Concussion IS the cause of great impact and effectiveness.  As one of Texas' fastest growing full-service Advertising, PR and Interactive firms, Concussion has proven that they are an A-list agency to be sought after.   That's why I was pumped to present True Colors to Concussion at a recent agency retreat.

Is it possible that True Colors concepts can add strategy to honing more effective advertising messages?   Is it possible that True Colors can help in developing strategic agency teams for the purpose of new business acquisition, customer service and creative presentation?  I think so. What do you guys think?

Kent Dean to Speak at Forum in California

On Thursday, 5.15.08, I will be speaking for Merion Publication's ADVANCE Magazine Forum in Riverside, California. The topic of the presentation will be the changing workplace and adapting to change. What do you believe to be the single greatest change in the workplace over the past five years?  Has that change impacted the workplace for good or bad in your opinion?

True Colors in Central Park

On April 15, I made a True Colors presentation to New York & New Jersey health care recruiters at the Central Park Boathouse in the heart of Manhattan. The view from the venue was fabulous, the weather was splendid and my reception was wonderful.  It's easy to see why people LOVE NY! A big thank you to Lyn McCafferty for the editorial in Advance for Nurses Magazine (Greater New York/New Jersey edition, 4/28/08) that so clearly outlines the immediate benefits of better understanding ones True Colors.

Who's Riding the Social Media Train?

I've spent a good deal of time studying personality communication and even more time field testing.  But, this social media movement presents a new and interesting observation in personality types and communication. Technology obviously powers the social media engine, but who's really riding the train? Are its passengers simply younger generations? Not totally, or I wouldn't be here. Do certain personality types trend up in social media more than others? Are social mediums a fad or fixture? Is communication really improved or possibly hindered by these outlets? I have my opinions, but as I've always said in my seminars "successful communication is not about me." It's about you. So, what are your thoughts?
